Engineering Research & Methods
Controlled engineering data-collection methods, empty raw-data templates and evidence boundaries. A method template is not a test result.
Publish the method, fields, source records and review boundary.
East Baoyu separates a proposed method, collected data, reviewed dataset and published result. Results are not shown unless the raw-data location, method version, reviewer and limitations are released together.
4 controlled engineering method templates
The current records are planning tools. They do not state universal capacities, corrosion life, wind performance or installation productivity.
Ground Screw Installation Torque and Axial Load Method
A project-level record structure for pairing installation observations and torque readings with a separately defined axial load test. The method preserves soil zone, geometry, equipment, torque unit, test setup, displacement and acceptance references so a site-specific relationship can be reviewed without treating torque as universal proof of capacity.
Recorded variables
- Project and site zone identifiers
- Ground screw geometry and installed length
- Soil description, groundwater and obstruction notes
- Installation equipment, torque unit and reading interval
- Load-test setup, direction, load steps and hold periods
- Displacement, acceptance reference, raw file and reviewer
Sampling / observation plan
Define zones from the geotechnical model and installation variability. Select preliminary, suitability or proof tests through the responsible engineer and project specification. Record excluded or interrupted installations rather than deleting them from the dataset.
Analysis boundary
The dataset can support only the tested product, installation method, site zones and load-test procedure. A correlation requires enough paired records and an engineering model; this empty template states no coefficient or capacity.
Limitations: Method template only. It contains no project readings, no customer data and no conclusion that installation torque alone proves capacity.
Corrosion and Coating Exposure Observation Method
A controlled observation structure for connecting material, surface preparation, coating system, measured thickness, environment, exposure duration, inspection method and observed condition. It is intended to prevent generic coating-life claims from being separated from their exposure and measurement basis.
Recorded variables
- Material and coating-system identifiers
- Surface preparation and target thickness
- Measured thickness method and locations
- Exposure dates, temperature, humidity and environment data
- Inspection interval, observed condition and photographs
- Mass loss or depth metric where an approved method applies
Sampling / observation plan
Define specimens or installed observation points, measurement locations, baseline readings and inspection intervals before exposure. Retain environmental records and deviations. Do not mix laboratory and field observations without a stated comparison method.
Analysis boundary
A condition record describes only the sampled system, preparation, thickness, exposure and observation period. Service-life prediction requires an approved model, design environment and engineering review.
Limitations: Method template only. It does not publish a coating warranty, salt-spray equivalence, corrosion rate or design life.
PV Tracker Wind and Stow Verification Data Method
A record structure for connecting the project wind basis and structural configuration to stow angles, trigger logic, sensors, communications, response time, analysis or test method and acceptance reference. It supports traceable controls review without claiming universal wind survival or stow performance.
Recorded variables
- System and configuration revision
- Wind basis, terrain and load-case identifiers
- Operating angle or stow state
- Trigger logic, sensors, communications and power state
- Response time and failure-state observations
- Analysis or test reference, result file and reviewer
Sampling / observation plan
Define normal, warning, stow and failure scenarios from the approved control philosophy. Record simulated and field events separately. Preserve time synchronization, sensor source, software or controller revision and excluded records.
Analysis boundary
The method does not replace structural wind design or tracker qualification. A result applies only to the tested or analysed configuration, control revision, event definition and acceptance criteria.
Limitations: Method template only. It contains no verified site wind event, response-time result, availability result or energy-gain conclusion.
Installation Efficiency and Exception Recording Method
A neutral activity log for separating completed quantity, working time, setup, weather delay, quality hold, exceptions and rework. It enables a project team to calculate a defined productivity measure without presenting a best-case demonstration as a universal installation rate.
Recorded variables
- Project, date, crew and equipment identifiers
- Product or configuration code and site zone
- Planned and completed quantity
- Working, setup, weather and quality-hold minutes
- Rework quantity and exception classification
- Source record, reviewer and explanatory notes
Sampling / observation plan
Define the start and stop rules, crew composition, equipment state, shift boundaries and exclusion rules before collection. Include normal and exception days. Link quantities to installation or inspection records rather than estimates.
Analysis boundary
Productivity depends on product, site, crew, equipment, access, weather, quality controls and learning stage. Comparisons require a consistent denominator and disclosure of exclusions.
Limitations: Method template only. It contains no customer programme, crew performance, universal installation rate or cost result.
A publishable result needs traceable raw records and review.
Before submitting files, agree the project code, confidentiality boundary, method version, source-record references and reviewer. Do not send controlled drawings through the public form.
