Project Inputs & Design Basis
What information should I send for an initial engineering review?
Send the project country and site, product or structure type, layout or drawings, governing loads, quantity, required standard, corrosion environment, target delivery date and any buyer document list. Ground-foundation inquiries should also include geotechnical information; roof projects need roof construction and allowable loads. An initial review identifies missing inputs and a feasible route. It is not an approved design or final quotation.
Which drawing revision should be used for quotation and production?
Identify the drawing number, revision, status and issuing authority. Mark whether it is for inquiry, tender, approval or construction. A quotation can state assumptions against an inquiry drawing, but material purchase and production require the approved revision named in the order or release record. Later revisions need a documented impact review covering quantity, material, tooling, inspection, schedule and price.
Who is responsible for the structural design?
Responsibility must be stated in the inquiry and contract. East Baoyu may manufacture to buyer-approved drawings, support detailing, or provide a project-specific design service where expressly included. None of those roles is inferred from a website page. The responsible designer, calculation standard, design inputs, approval authority and change process should be recorded before fabrication release.
Which loads and combinations are needed?
Provide the governing reactions or the information required to calculate them, including dead, live, wind, snow, seismic, thermal, equipment, impact, uplift and erection-stage actions where applicable. The governing combinations and serviceability criteria depend on the selected standard and owner requirements. A single maximum load is usually insufficient when load direction, simultaneity, movement and allowable deflection affect selection.
How is the applicable standard and edition confirmed?
State the standard, edition, national annex, owner specification and any project amendments in the inquiry documents. A catalog reference to ASTM, ISO, AWS, IEC or another standard does not automatically make that standard applicable to every order. The quotation and approved document register should identify the controlling requirements and resolve conflicts before production.
Can East Baoyu quote when some project inputs are missing?
Yes, an indicative or budget review may be possible if the missing inputs and assumptions are clearly listed. The response should distinguish a budget estimate from an engineering quotation and identify which values could change the design, quantity, price or schedule. A final release is not made from unconfirmed assumptions that affect safety, compliance, interfaces or acceptance.
Should I send confidential drawings through the public form?
Do not submit confidential, export-controlled, personal or commercially sensitive files through the public form. Use the form to describe the document type and request a suitable transfer route. If an NDA, access restriction or buyer portal is required, agree that process before sending the files. The public form records contact consent but is not represented as a secure engineering-document vault.
How are project changes controlled after approval?
Each change should identify the affected document, old and new revision, reason, technical impact, commercial impact and approval authority. Material already purchased or fabricated must be assessed separately from unstarted work. Superseded drawings should be removed from production points, while the final manufacturing record preserves the approved history and any accepted deviations.
Ground Screws & Foundations
What ground information is needed for a screw-pile review?
Provide boreholes or test pits where available, soil descriptions and parameters, groundwater, fill, obstructions, rock depth, frost, contamination, corrosivity and access conditions. Also provide pile reactions, layout, tolerances and design life. A soil label such as clay, sand or gravel is not enough to select a universal pile or capacity.
Does installation torque prove screw-pile capacity?
Installation torque can be a construction control only where the project engineer has approved a site- and pile-specific relationship, equipment and recording method. It is not a universal substitute for design, geotechnical review or load testing. The project plan should state torque criteria, minimum depth, refusal handling, proof or production tests, acceptance limits and release authority.
When is a screw-pile load test required?
The responsible engineer or project specification determines whether preliminary, proof or production testing is required. The plan identifies locations, load directions, stages, hold periods, movement limits, sample frequency, instrumentation and reporting. A pull-out result does not automatically establish compression, lateral or moment performance, and one site zone may not represent another.
What happens if a screw pile meets refusal or an obstruction?
Stop at the defined exception condition and record the pile ID, depth, torque or equipment response, location and observation. The approved disposition may use relocation, predrilling where permitted, a revised pile, an extension, removal or another foundation route. Forcing installation or cutting the pile without engineering approval can damage the component and invalidate the intended verification method.
How is screw-pile length selected?
Length follows the ground profile, required founding zone, structural reactions, installation criteria, corrosion allowance and test results. Extensions may be used when the approved system and coupling design permit them. The final pile schedule may contain several lengths or configurations across one project; catalog lengths are inquiry references, not a site-wide prescription.
How are helix diameter and configuration selected?
Helix geometry follows the load-transfer model, soil profile, shaft capacity, installation feasibility and applicable design method. Larger or additional helices are not automatically better because installation torque, soil disturbance, spacing and structural demand also matter. The approved pile schedule and calculation basis control the configuration.
What information is needed for the pile-head connection?
Provide the supported column, post, beam or chassis geometry; reactions; base plate; bolt pattern; adjustment range; tolerances; access and erection sequence. The head should avoid impractical bolt access, unapproved eccentricity, water traps and field modification. Final head elevation must coordinate with grading, paving, drainage and the supported structure.
How is corrosion protection selected for ground screws?
Selection considers soil and atmospheric exposure, groundwater, contaminants, dissimilar metals, coating damage during installation, sacrificial thickness, inspection access and design life. A nominal galvanizing thickness alone does not prove service life in every environment. The project should define material, coating or galvanizing standard, repair rules, acceptance records and any additional durability measures.
Which installation tolerances apply to screw piles?
Position, verticality or inclination, final elevation, rotational orientation and head geometry depend on the supported-system interface. The drawing and method statement should state values and the survey reference. Out-of-tolerance piles require an engineered disposition that checks connection fit, eccentricity, load effects and any change to the supported structure.
Which screw-pile records should be retained?
A project record can include the approved pile schedule, material and dimensional reports, coating records, pile identification, installation location, depth, torque where applicable, alignment, final level, exceptions, proof or production tests and release status. The required set and retention period are defined by the contract and ITP.
Solar Mounting Systems
How do fixed, tracking and flexible PV mounting differ?
Fixed mounting uses a project-selected static geometry. Tracking adds drives, controls, communications and stow operation to change module position. Flexible mounting uses tensioned elements and project-defined spans between supports. Each route has different structural, foundation, construction, O&M and evidence needs; selection should use the site layout, actions, energy model, interfaces and lifecycle plan.
What controls a fixed PV mounting design?
Module dimensions and clamp zones, orientation, tilt, table length, row spacing, ground or roof interface, wind, snow, seismic, terrain, corrosion, drainage, earthing and maintenance access all affect the system. Member sizes, spans, connections and foundation reactions are design outputs, not universal website values.
What information is required for rooftop PV mounting?
Provide roof type, structure, spans, material, age and condition; allowable dead, live and point loads; waterproofing; attachment or ballast rules; wind zones; drainage; fire and access routes; module layout and equipment locations. A roof survey and responsible structural review are normally required before final attachment and loading decisions.
How should tracker energy gain be evaluated?
Define the fixed-tilt reference, weather dataset, model version, module and inverter assumptions, layout, terrain, shading, soiling, availability, auxiliary power and loss factors. Report the location, period and uncertainty. East Baoyu does not publish one universal gain percentage because the result depends on the baseline and project assumptions.
How is a solar tracker stow strategy determined?
Stow is coordinated between the structural limits, wind or weather inputs, sensors, controller logic, communications, power-loss response and operational risk plan. The project defines thresholds, delay, direction, fail-safe state, restart and manual recovery. A generic wind speed or angle is not applied without the actual design and control basis.
What control and communications information is needed for a tracker?
Identify row architecture, controller hierarchy, sensors, time source, network, SCADA or plant-controller interface, protocols, cybersecurity requirements, auxiliary power, alarms, data retention and remote access. Ownership of software, parameter files, updates, commissioning and recovery should be stated in the commercial and technical scope.
Is tracker availability guaranteed by the structure alone?
No. Availability depends on mechanical design, drives, controls, sensors, power, communications, commissioning, spares, maintenance access and fault-response time. If an availability commitment is requested, define the measurement period, excluded events, denominator, data source and remedy in the contract.
What is the maximum span for flexible PV mounting?
There is no universal public maximum. Span interacts with cable properties, pretension, temperature, deflection, wind-induced response, snow, module behaviour, support stiffness, anchor reactions, terrain and construction sequence. The approved structural model, drawings and tensioning plan establish the project value.
Who coordinates foundations with the solar mounting system?
The contract should identify the designer and approver for foundations, mounting reactions and interface drawings. Pile heads, base plates, anchor rods, roof attachments and tolerances must match the mounting geometry and erection sequence. A mounting quotation should state whether foundation design, testing, supply and installation are included or excluded.
Which documents should be requested for a solar mounting package?
Typical project documents include the layout, design basis, calculations, approved drawings, bill of material, interface and reaction schedules, material certificates, coating records, dimensional inspection, packing list, installation information and ITP-defined release records. Trackers can also require FAT, control narrative, commissioning, O&M and configuration records.
Steel Structures & Fabrication
Can you build to my drawings?
Yes, subject to a drawing and capability review. Provide controlled drawings, 3D data where applicable, material, welding, tolerance, coating, inspection, quantity and delivery requirements. The quotation will state whether East Baoyu is manufacturing to buyer-approved documents, supporting detailing or providing a separate design scope. Production uses the approved revision and change-control route.
What is needed to quote a custom steel structure?
Provide general arrangements and fabrication drawings or a defined design brief, bill of material if available, steel grades, connection and fastener requirements, welding and NDT specification, surface treatment, quality documents, packing limits, destination and programme. Weight alone is not enough when complexity, tolerances, inspection and logistics differ.
Can East Baoyu substitute a steel grade or section?
Only through the approved substitution process. The review checks mechanical properties, chemistry, toughness, weldability, dimensions, coating compatibility, availability, design calculations and regulatory requirements. The responsible designer or buyer approval authority must accept the change before purchase or fabrication.
When are WPS and welder qualification records required?
The applicable fabrication standard and project specification define welding procedure and personnel qualification requirements. The document schedule should identify which WPS, procedure qualification, welder or operator records and consumable controls are submitted. A website reference to a welding standard is not evidence that every project uses the same procedure or qualification range.
How is the NDT method and sampling frequency determined?
Joint category, material, thickness, loading, fatigue or fracture consequence, welding standard and project specification determine the method, extent and acceptance criteria. Visual, magnetic particle, penetrant, ultrasonic or radiographic examination may apply. The approved ITP states locations, frequency, personnel qualification, reporting and disposition of indications.
How are steel fabrication tolerances controlled?
Drawings and the applicable fabrication standard define member, hole, plate, weld, assembly, camber, sweep and interface tolerances. Inspection points focus on dimensions that affect fit, alignment, equipment or site interfaces. Trial assembly or survey may be required for complex geometry. Out-of-tolerance work follows the non-conformance and engineering-disposition process.
Can steel structures be galvanized, painted or supplied bare?
The route depends on material, component geometry, exposure, design life, appearance, transport, repair access and project specification. Galvanizing needs venting, drainage and distortion review. Painting needs surface preparation, environmental control and dry-film checks. Bare or shop-primer supply is used only when the contract defines subsequent protection and responsibility.
When is trial assembly required?
Trial assembly may be specified for bridge segments, complex nodes, modules, long-span geometry, equipment interfaces or first articles. The contract and ITP define the extent, survey method, witness point and acceptance criteria. It is not automatically performed on every steel order and should be priced and scheduled when required.
Quality, Evidence & Certification
What certifications do your products carry?
The public website currently lists product catalogs and a controlled evidence request route; it does not publish certificate originals as universal proof for every product or entity. State the required certificate, standard, product, factory, holder, scope and validity period. East Baoyu will identify the applicable record that can be disclosed. Verify the holder and scope in the Certification & Evidence Center.
Is a product catalog evidence of certification?
No. A catalog describes product families and examples. Certification requires a current original that identifies the holder, site, scope, product or process, issuer, dates and verification route. A standard name or logo in a catalog is not a substitute for that record.
What should an Inspection and Test Plan contain?
An ITP should identify each characteristic or activity, applicable document, inspection method, acceptance criteria, frequency, record, responsible party and hold, witness or review point. It should also define batch or lot terms and the non-conformance route. The approved project ITP—not a generic statement—controls the actual inspections.
How are material certificates linked to delivered goods?
The traceability plan links heat, batch or lot identifiers from incoming material to cut parts, assemblies, member marks, packing lists and final records at the level required by the contract. The method can vary by product and risk. A material certificate without a documented link to the delivered item is weak evidence.
What should a coating or galvanizing report show?
The report should identify the item or batch, specification, surface preparation where applicable, process or product, inspection locations, thickness or other acceptance values, instrument and calibration status, repairs, result and inspector. Environmental and adhesion records may be required for paint systems. The project ITP defines the exact set.
When is a Factory Acceptance Test used?
FAT is useful when a product has functional, control, interface or assembly requirements that can be verified before shipment, such as tracker controls, first articles or complex modules. The approved procedure defines setup, prerequisites, test cases, acceptance, witness parties, deviations and release. Standard fabricated parts may use inspection records rather than a separate FAT.
How is warranty scope confirmed?
Use the warranty document issued for the applicable seller, product and order. Check start date, duration, design and installation responsibilities, environment, maintenance, exclusions, notice process and remedy. A website design-life statement, coating value or catalog phrase is not automatically a contractual warranty.
How can a buyer verify a certificate or report?
Match the holder name and address to the proposed supplier or factory, read the scope and exclusions, check issue and expiry dates, verify the issuer through its official route, and connect the record to the product, drawing, batch or order. The Certification & Evidence Center provides the site verification method and request route.
Commercial & Quotation
What’s your typical lead time?
Lead time is confirmed after product, quantity, approved inputs, material availability, fabrication route, inspection and witness points, packing, destination and release conditions are reviewed. A first response can identify missing information and an indicative route, but it is not an unconditional promise of drawings, price or production within 24 hours. The quotation states the applicable schedule and assumptions.
What’s the minimum order quantity?
MOQ depends on product, material purchase unit, setup, tooling, coating batch, testing, packing and logistics. A prototype, sample or small trial may use a different route and price from project production. Send the required quantity and purpose so the quotation can distinguish sample, pilot, replacement and volume supply.
Does East Baoyu guarantee a full quotation within 24 hours?
No unconditional full-quotation guarantee is published. When complete inputs arrive during GMT+8 business days, the team aims to provide an initial response or missing-input list within one business day. Engineering drawings, calculations, formal pricing and delivery confirmation follow the complexity, scope, approvals and supplier checks stated in the response.
How long is a quotation valid?
The quotation states its validity period and any conditions tied to steel, zinc, freight, exchange rate, quantity, specification and schedule. A changed drawing, delivery date, destination or Incoterm may require revalidation even within the stated period. The signed commercial document controls, not a website answer.
What payment terms are available?
Payment terms depend on the contracting entity, buyer approval, order value, product, production commitment, credit review and trade conditions. They are stated in the quotation or contract. Do not send payment based only on an email or website page; verify the beneficiary and entity against the signed documents using the published contact route.
Which Incoterms can be quoted?
The available Incoterm depends on destination, product, packing, transport mode, export route, buyer import capability and contracting entity. State the named place or port and required Incoterms edition. Responsibilities for loading, insurance, customs, unloading and site delivery should be made explicit in the quotation.
Can I visit the factory or get samples?
Factory visits and samples can be reviewed after the visitor, purpose, product, confidentiality, safety and schedule are confirmed. A sample may demonstrate material, geometry or finish but does not prove project capacity or full production conformity. If testing is required, agree the sample identity, method, witness and acceptance before manufacture.
Are import duties and local taxes included?
Only if the quotation explicitly states that they are included under the named delivery term and destination. Classification, duties, VAT or GST, local permits, inspections, unloading and inland delivery can remain with the buyer. Confirm the scope with a qualified customs or tax adviser for the destination.
Logistics, Installation & After-Sales
Do you ship internationally?
East Baoyu reviews international delivery on a project basis. Provide destination, consignee requirements, product dimensions and weight, quantity, target Incoterm, required documents, unloading conditions and schedule. The quotation confirms the contracting and export entity, packing route, named place and included logistics scope.
How are components packed and identified?
Packing follows component type, coating, transport mode, storage period, lifting method and installation sequence. Marks should link parts and hardware to drawings, bills of material and packing lists. Small items need controlled counts; coated or machined interfaces need protection. Buyer-specific packing, fumigation or marking requirements should be provided before release.
How is container loading planned?
The loading plan reviews internal dimensions, payload, axle and point loads, centre of gravity, restraint, dunnage, handling access and unloading sequence. Long or heavy components may require open-top, flat-rack, breakbulk or another route. A theoretical volume calculation is not enough when safe restraint and destination handling control feasibility.
How should galvanized or coated steel be stored on site?
Store components on stable dunnage with drainage and airflow, protect identification, avoid contact with incompatible materials and prevent water traps or prolonged wet nesting. Follow the project coating and handling instructions. Inspect transport damage promptly and use only the approved repair method before installation.
Does product supply include installation?
Only when the quotation or contract explicitly includes it. Supply, installation supervision, tooling, commissioning, testing, cranes, civil work, unloading, permits and site labour can be separate scopes. The responsibility matrix should identify each interface and the records required for handover.
How are spare parts and replacement components handled?
Identify commissioning spares, operating spares, special tools and recommended replacement items during the technical review. Replacement orders need the original project, drawing, revision, member or part mark, material and finish. A photograph alone may not identify a safe substitute when interfaces or revisions changed.
What happens if delivered material does not meet a requirement?
Quarantine and identify the item, preserve evidence, and notify the contractual contact with the order, part, quantity, requirement and photographs or records. The responsible parties review containment, cause, concession, repair, replacement or rejection. Do not modify a structural or coated component before an approved disposition.
What should be included in the project handover pack?
The agreed manufacturing data record can include approved drawings, bill of material, material certificates, welding and NDT records, dimensional inspection, coating or galvanizing reports, FAT or test records, packing lists, deviations, release notes, installation information and warranty. The document index, format and approval route should be agreed before production.
